Congratulations on your decision to present your child for Baptism. From the very day of Pentecost the Church has celebrated and administered holy Baptism (CCC 1226). The celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism is an important event in the life of your family and our parish community. Baptism is birth into the new life in Christ. In accordance with the Lord’s will it is necessary for salvation, as is the Church herself, which we enter by Baptism (CCC 1277). As parents and godparents, you are living models of Christian life therefore, you are making a serious commitment to nourish your child in the Catholic faith.

Prior to attending a Baptismal seminar, the Baptismal packet (to be completed below) must be submitted with all paperwork completed and signed, including a copy of the birth certificate.

In preparation for Baptism, please follow these guidelines:

1. At least one parent must attend a Baptismal seminar. Please request below to email Deacon Tony and find the next available date.

2. Upon successful completion of the Baptismal seminar, call the parish office at 904-330-0153, to schedule the date of Baptism.

3. One godparent must be a practicing Catholic. (A sponsor letter is required from their respective parish on parish letterhead with the parish seal, even if they are members of St. John Paul Il).

4. A Baptismal candle will be provided by the parish. We, at St. John Paul Il Mission Church, are committed to strengthen and support your faith journey.
