What is it?: Crafting for Christ is a peer lead initiative to motivate the parish’s young people to be creative and help build their community by having fun and fundraising for the Light to the Nation’s Capital Campaign.
The youth of our parish are invited to participate in a Minecraft competition! Participants will be broken up into teams and will communicate, design and build our future church campus in the Minecraft platform! A list of key items that must be included in the design will be provided. At the conclusion of the build out a printed-out version of the group’s designs will be displayed and voted upon. There will be a point system based off of creativity, execution, fundraising and presentation of why this buildout is important and beneficial to the community.
Winners will get to attend the Beacon of Light Gala and show their work.
Registration is $20 per person and each team will have a fundraising goal of $100.
Once registered, teams will be formed based on age, platform, and previous knowledge of the game. We will have a Minecraft server for each team that can hold 10 people. Servers will be monitored for progress and rate of completion.
Deadline of Completion: October (TBD)
Age: 11-17
