St. John Paul II was established as a parish on October 17, 2020 and is located in one of the fastest growing communities in America. Our parish has been entrusted with 22 acres of property in Northeast Florida that we plan to transform into a sculpted and purposeful sanctuary of peace and faith-filled reflection.

Our new grounds and church will thoughtfully combine a wide variety of natural landscape elements with architecturally pleasing expressions. We will create a sacred space that nurtures personal and community faith development. The modern world is filled with numerous challenges and distractions, and St. John Paul II is committed to providing a place of transcendence and peace where the Catholic faith is reaffirmed and strengthened. Envision a sanctuary centered on devotion to our Eucharistic Lord in a simplistically elegant Church surrounded by meditation gardens. The transcendental realities of truth, beauty, and goodness will facilitate the proclamation of the Gospel enriched by one’s surroundings.

The modern world’s social, cultural, and political influences are constantly evolving and growing. As a result the voice of the Church is often disregarded, making the need for catechesis critical at this time in our history. As stated by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, “Catechesis nourishes, forms and deepens the faith one receives through the ministry of the church.” The role of catechesis counteracts these destructive social trends, reaffirming the purity of the Word of God and the foundation it forms for our lives.

We will build an educational resource center for the families of our parish for proper education in the tradition of the Catholic Church. People of all ages will be welcomed to enter into the rich heritage of the greatest minds throughout church history to better appreciate the revealed Word of God and its application in our daily lives.This will contribute to a greater understanding of the tenants of our faith that must be secured and treasured for the next generation.

As a Eucharistic-centered community of Catholics, we celebrate and adore Jesus present in the midst of the Church. His atoning sacrifice of His Body and Blood on the Cross is where we draw strength from the Eucharistic altar of Salvation. As St. John Paul II says, “From the Eucharist comes strength to live the Christian life and zeal to share that life with others.”

Magna Commission

In today’s fast paced world, we must work intentionally to connect with one another and to God. This responsibility before God is a direct response to the great command of Matthew 22:39, “You must love your neighbor as yourself.”

As we strive to fulfill this command in an ever-growing digital world, we will create an infrastructure for the proclamation of the Gospel for this online generation. It is the apostolic mission that Jesus expressed before He ascended into heaven; “Go out to the whole world; proclaim the Gospel to all creation” Mark 16:15. When we become the modern day disciples of Christ in the world, we have the wonderful opportunity of ministering to all of creation even within the digital space. Evangelization doesn’t end with our physical neighbors anymore, but extends far beyond to the digital continent.
